23rd Sep 2013 - happened at 08.30 on road from Tebay to Greyrigg (brought back memories of train crash major incident - deja vue!!).
Collision between HGV & single decker bus carrying school children to school in Kendal.
HGV driver was trapped for about an hour with head & arm injuries and there were 15 casualties from the bus, mostly with minor injuries (sore necks, bruised ribs & one broken nose!).
BEEP Dr (Dr Weston - his fifth major incident!!) attended as Medical Incident Commander along with four ambulances & two air ambulances (one from NWAAS & one from GNAAS - Pride of Cumbria).
Thankfully it wasn't as bad as was first feared when it was declared a Major Incident.
