Tuesday 14/07/15 20.30; 61 yr old male from Skelton, Penrith, was found by a passerby lying on a remote country lane beside his bicycle; he was attended to by Dr. Theo Weston, BEEP Fund, Penrith & another BASICS Dr. from Caldbeck along with NWAS paramedics; he was found to have evidence of potentially very serious head & chest injuries; he was treated at the scene & then transported to Carlisle still accompanied by one of the doctors so that ongoing treatment could be continued. After further investigations in the Cumberland Infirmary, he was later transferred to the RVI, Newcastle, for more specialist help for his very serious injuries.
