Latest Incidents Attended

Monday morning 25/02/13 at 08.50 RTC M6 just south of Junction 36 on northbound carriageway; involved four HGV's, one van & one car; all were impacted into each other in first lane; two air ambulances attended (Pride of Cumbria GNAAS helicopter with doctor & paramedic and NWAAS helicopter from Blackpool with two paramedics); BEEP Dr (Theo Weston] from Penrith also attended treating the car driver (whose car was squashed between two HGV's) at the scene before she was flown by air ambulance to Preston - she was trapped for 90 minutes before being released by the Fire Service; one HGV driver sadly died immediately and another was trapped for a while before being released, although he too died shortly afterwards from his injuries despite extensive resuscitation attempts by the crew of the GNAAS & other paramedics.
