Latest Incidents

A couple of incidents this week:

1. 19/05/13 15.45; RTC on A592 just past Pooley Bridge & turn off for Dalemain, motorbike lost control on bend, colliding with front of oncoming car; BEEP Dr. (Dr Weston) arrived first followed a short while later my NWAS paramedic; treated at the scene for severe chest injury & called Pride of Cumbria Air Ambulance (GNAAS), who also helped with treating the casualt before flying him to Preston Royal Infirmary.
2. 20/05/13 14.20: two vehicle oblique head-on collision between a small van & car on A6 north of Penrith near Milestone House; BEEP Dr. (Dr Weston) arrived shortly after the NWAS paramedic & found one female driver of the car with relatively minor injuries, who was later taken by land ambulance to Carlisle, & also the male driver of the van who was still trapped in the van & who had suffered serious leg & other injuries; he was cut free by the Fire Service after about 30 minutes & the Pride of Cumbria Air Ambulance was called. After being released & given further treatment at the scene by the BEEP Dr., the NWAS paramedic & the doctor & paramedic from the air ambulance, he was flown to the RVI in Newcastle.
