Latest Incident

Tuesday 09/07/13 14.40; RTC centre Keswick; two pedestrians in mid-70's knocked over by a car; the male pedestrian suffered minor injuries but the female pedestrian suffered extremely serious head injuries & was deeply unconscious at the scene; the local Keswick BASICS Doctor (Dr. Tim Hooper) attended first followed by the Penrith BASICS/BEEP Fund Dr. (Dr. Theo Weston) & then shortly afterwards by the doctor & paramedic crew from the Pride of Cumbria GNAAS Air Ambulance; together they were able to provide significant lifesaving procedures at the scene (amongst other things, a general anaesthetic) before transferring her to the helicopter & flying her to the RVI in Newcastle.

This seems to be the busiest week we've had for a long time & virtually all have been very badly injured casualties to whom we will hopefully have made a significant difference to their outcome (e.g. the 16 yr old head injury from Friday night is now back home I believe!!!)
