One vehicle RTC on A66 5 miles west of Penrith on Monday 11/05/15 at 08.55; car spun off the road at high speed hitting a tree; single 23yr old female occupant/driver was trapped in the wreckage for over an hour while being cut free by the Fire Service; she suffered serious leg & other injuries and was treated at the scene while still in the car & after her release by a BEEP Fund Dr (Weston) along with NWAS paramedics & also the doctor/paramedic crew of one of the Great North Air Ambulances, who then flew her to the RVI in Newcastle.
